Florida woman steals patrol car before getting in deadly crash
A Florida woman got into a deadly crash after stealing a patrol car on Feb. 1, 2024, according to the Florida Highway Patrol and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
Officials said around 2 p.m., deputies responded to an incident in Marion County where a woman, Kendra Boone, was attempting to take another woman’s keys.
When deputies arrives, officials say a deputy told Boone to get into the back of his vehicle. Once he got out of his car, she climbed into the driver’s seat and drove away. The incident was caught on the officer’s bodycam.
As police chased her, Boone eventually got into a crash, killing herself and two other people in the vehicle she crashed into. Another person in that vehicle is in the hospital in critical condition, officials said.
